Buying old / antique prints and maps on eBay

One good source for antique prints and maps is eBay. Many thousands of old and antique prints are listed at any one time, ranging from small and very inexpensive up to very rare and sought after prints.

Amongst the advantages of of searching on eBay are the possibility of finding a bargain, the fun of searching and the 'window shopping' element, in which you may see an old or antique print that catches your eye.

The disadvantages must also be pointed out - carefully check descriptions and images for notes of damage, check for validation of the print's date and authenticity, check the shipping costs which should not be much for loose prints, but could be high for framed examples. Also it is often only possible to buy one item at a time, as compared to my site in which any number of prints or maps can be bought, usually with a discount.
